Allinea News Online 3
Welcome back to the first Allinea News On-Line for 2006
We welcome this opportunity to share with you news of our tremendous growth during 2005, and would also like to thank you for your continued support and feedback. Thanks to you, DDT is now recognized as a "must have" tool for parallel software development.
Since DDT's launch, we have received a lot of encouragement and occasionally a bit of criticism ( ;-) ). However, all of this feedback has helped us to enrich our product offering - both to meet existing customer requirements as well as to provide innovative new features.
OPT is now ready to be launched and we hope that you will like it as much as DDT.
We trust you will enjoy reading this new Allinea News On-line !

- Added support for Bull MPI, OpenMPI (1.0.1) and Intel MPI 2.
- Improved Message Queue display - select display by local rank or global rank; for messages with MPI_ANY_SOURCE, array points to centre of circle. Fixes to a number of bugs and performance issue on IA64. Improved automatic detection of message queue library on many configurations.
- Intel Itanium, IA64, performance improved on platforms subsequent to Redhat 2.1.
- Performance of startup improved for programs with a large number of source files.
- Allocatable arrays inside derived types now presented as arrays.
- Right click an expression in evaluate or variables window to add to the Cross Process Comparison window.Cryptic references to MDA and CPC replaced by user-friendly descriptions.
- Many minor bug fixes.

- Supercomputing licences no longer greedily reserve entire licence at start up.
This last quarter saw us offer a new option for licensing DDT with the popular "Supercomputing licence". This license model brings flexibility, ease of use and high-end capabilities for large-scale environments.
Since its release, sales of the supercomputing licence have outstripping all other licence types. To understand how you could benefit from this new model, please contact your local sales representative, who will be happy to assist you.
Note that DDT Version 1.9.2 will be available for download to all customers who have a current license for maintenance and support. For new customers, a 30-day trial license is also available. See Download Section and Documentation.
Allinea OPT - Optimisation and Profiling Tool is now available!
OPT is a new solution for developers who require optimal performance for their large-scale parallel applications. OPT is the first of Allinea's new generation of Grid-enabled tools for HPC, with a client/server architecture that works transparently on local or remote compute resources.
OPT has already been sold to selected customers who have helped us to define the features of this first release as well as to ensure that the product meets their expectations of a high-quality commercial product. OPT brings a novel approach to code optimization and to MPI profiling for scientists who want to obtain quick results. Like DDT, high-end capabilities, ease-of-use and a cross-platform architecture come as standard.
