CUSTOMER NEWS Allinea, Sun, and TACC to Develop Petascale Debugging Tool Allinea will collaborate with Sun Microsystems and the Texas Advanced Computing Centre (TACC) to develop next-generation debugging tools for large-scale cluster systems, including the Ranger computing platform of Sun’s Constellation System. “We are delighted to announce this key partnership with TACC and Sun Microsystems,” says Allinea CEO Michael Rudgyard. “It not only strengthens our market presence in the U.S., but demonstrates the capability of our existing product and our commitment to developing new techniques for debugging at massive scale.” (Read more.) back to topU.S. Dept. of Energy Chooses Allinea DDT For New Cray XT4 Supercomputer The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) has chosen Allinea’s DDT debugger product for their new Cray XT4 supercomputer. “It was imperative that we offer our users a comprehensive application development and debugging environment on this system,” says Jonathan Carter, Group Leader for User Services at NERSC. “DDT was chosen because its feature set and price/performance offered the most benefits to our users. We have been very impressed with DDT and Allinea’s technical team has been very responsive.” (Read more.) back to topICHEC To Install Allinea’s DDT & OPT On Their New IBM BlueGene System In order to enhance their current infrastructure, The Irish Center for High End Computing (ICHEC) has purchased Allinea’s DDT and OPT tools for their new IBM BlueGene system — billed as the world’s fastest supercomputer with speeds up to one petaflop. This marks the first installation of Allinea products on BlueGene and demonstrates our ability to address the needs of such powerful, large-scale systems. (Read more.) back to topFrench IFREMER Adds Allinea’s DDT To Their New SGI System The French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (IFREMER) will use Allinea’s DDT debugger for their new SGI Altix ICE 8200 blade cluster system. Installed in August 2007, the combination of SGI and DDT will allow researchers at IFREMER to work more efficiently with larger data volumes for a variety of applications including WaveWatchill, MARS, OPA, HYCOM, and CORIOLIS. back to top |

COMPANY NEWS Allinea Signs Worldwide Reseller Agreement with Cray Cray, a global leader in supercomputing, has signed a worldwide reseller agreement for Allinea’s DDT debugging tool, providing a scalable, intuitive, and powerful solution for Cray XT systems running in the Linux environment. The DDT architecture is particularly suited for massively parallel machines such as the Cray XT, and DDT is installed on the majority of Europe’s largest supercomputers back to topGilbert Lauber Appointed New Allinea Sales Manager for Central Europe Gilbert R. Lauber has been appointed Sales Manager for Allinea in Central Europe. In this new position, Mr. Lauber will be responsible for overseeing our sales efforts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Poland. Mr. Lauber has many years experience in the HPC industry, having worked at several leading firms including Sun Mircosystems, SGI, and Cray. In his long and diverse career, Mr. Lauber has held positions as a consultant, managing director, system engineer, and programmer. He resides in Switzerland and speaks multiple languages, which will surely be of benefit in his new position. back to top
